... Trước khi đi giao cho cà nhóm Trans mình 2 cái fic nè:
The Diaries of Juuri Kuranchapter1 Onii-sama.My onii-sama.Onii-sama and me.Haruka and me.Haruka and Juuri. Our love, fueled by instinct is one only beasties such as the vampire itself would harbor. Though it would do something fierce to my heart to see Haruka with another, something disastrous, it would be different with Van. It’d be betrayal in a way that would break my heart. No anger, just depression. No possessiveness or jealousy, just loss. No grudging, just complete and utter fright. You guys know the drill, when I have an idea I jump on it and I’m defiantly gonna see this one through till the end since I wrote the end first. (No this isn’t the end). Just please review and tell me your thoughts. Predictions would be fun to see as well. Chapter 2First Sight“Whoaaa now what we have here? A stole away?”I can still remember seeing him for the first time; I can remember that moment as clearly as I can see my hand passing along this page. The way he kneeled down beside my crouching form behind the potatoes in the ship’s cellar. The way he gave me that crooked smile that distorted any and all of his collected features that suggested he held no arrogance, or was a man of few words. I remember the way his breath smelled -of whiskey and rum- as he muttered “a girl” and something else I could not decipher over the roar of the waves, even with my ears.I remember the way the back of his hand caressed my face for the first time and the way his eyes held curiosity, surprise, excitement, - want. No anger or cruelty towards me, which I expected since I was a stole away as he so formally put it. I could see myself reflected back in his emerald eyes, and saw my own eyes, holding only wonder and a little surprise as well. I can almost feel that way his left took my right and caressed it. Calloused hands- the hands of a hard worker- the hands of a pirate.I remember his other smell above the smell of the ocean. His smell that completely contradicted the way his shirt was wrinkled and blotched with blood, his messy auburn hair that fell a little below his ears, and his dirt crusted hands and smudged face. His smell was new to me, different than any human I had smelled before; I wanted his blood. It smelled so sweet, and mixed together sensually with the rest of him. I realized that my eyes must have at the time also held a blood lusting want.Besides the fact that he was so warm and his skin was such a creamy rose compared to mine, I noticed that this boy, man, was happy to see that I was on this ship. That I had made this last minute decision to sneak past Haruka’s and my guards’ surveillance and jump on the nearest ship being sent off. Of course with my luck I noticed it was a pirate ship only too late since the potato sacks I took refuge behind where filled with countless jewels only a rich man could possess. Correction, this ship was his ship, and it he called it the Golden Goddess after its gold encrusted mahogany rails and glittering cream sails. His ship was beautiful in everyway, and it was only fitting that he was its captain. Chapter 3Weaving Bonds“But why must I go? I went last spring, they don’t even want me there, they’re just measly human pests that wish to get on our good side, they –“My brother’s hand silenced me, and as he stood up, I could tell he was tired and frustrated, as his words came out harsh, heavy, and punctuated.“You received the invitation, if you don’t want to go I guess I can’t make you; but what effect do you think that’ll have on the council? Surely they’ll be more then happy to receive a declination from you; if you don’t go they’ll take it that your words were false. Did you really mean it when you said ‘we need to start reaching out towards humans of the higher class. We need to show them that we aren’t the monsters they think we are’ or not? What is it that you expect to happen Juuri?”I look down at my folded hands, “I…. I…” I sighed looking away, knowing that he was right, but wishing he wasn’t.Seeing my disgruntled expression, he cupped my face and made me look him the eyes. “The day will come when we will be free of the council’s eyes. But right now, we need to show them that we are committed, and still here. We can’t let them think they have a greater percentage of control.” He bent down to touch his soft lips to mine, then my cheek and forehead before heading towards the door, stopping to put on his long deep purple overcoat.“I’m going out, please do try not to cause any trouble will you? Keep in mind what happened last time you snuck off” My brother shook his head in disbelief as he recalled the time I had jumped onto the pirate ship.“No more early morning escapades you hear me Juuri? I don’t know how many more rumors this house can take without it combusting.” He looked at me, clearly joking, but absolutely serious at the same time. I wish I knew how to do that.“Yes Onii-sama.” I bowed my head and smiled too; but for an entirely different reason, as I remembered what he had said to me before Haruka’s Guard had tracked me down. “Well, now you must come back and visit me soon; try using your head more though my dear. It might help with situations such as this…” Haruka was gone before he could see my smile turning into a wide goofy girly grin, I practically ran to the window, almost tripping over Rino’s tail, and pushed the floor length doors to the balcony open with all my might. I leaned over the rails until half my body was over, and called down to Haruka who was about to mount his horse.“Don’t come back too soon Haruka-sama!” I yelled, waving my right, and hanging onto the windowsill with the other.I could hear his laugh, and his men’s low chuckles, as he called back.“And don’t you fall out of that windowsill. What use will a flattened wife be to me?” I huffed and pretended to look mad by pouting my lower lip and narrowing my eyes; acting the part can easier when Haruka and I bantered. Although it didn’t help that my lips still held my grin. As he rode off, I counted to one hundred, watching him disappear into the trees.I turned my head west, toward the rising sun, and let the warm ocean breeze caress my face. I took the pin from my hair and let the wind toss it all around me as I bit my lip. Van always liked it better messed up. He said it looked cuter and less “uptight”. Oooh just thinking of him sent shivers down my spine.Again, with the same enthusiasm as before, I took off not bothering to close the stained glass doors behind me. I ran as “royally” as I could to Haruka’s and my chambers. There, I flung our king sized bed’s mattress onto the floor and grabbed my secret bag of clothing from underneath. Just as I was untying my bodice my and aid burst in, and hurriedly began to untie my laces for me.Breathlessly, she said, “I can give you more time than usual, but you must return ‘fore the human’s lunch hour, you hear? Haruka’s always in a hurry to return to you my dear, and we must get you ready for Elchrist’s party.”I whinned, “Aahh, I know I know, Ah, I wish I never had accepted their invitation last spring. All they do is whine and fawn over how handsome Haruka is.”She stopped untying my laces to remove the outer skins of my skirts, arcing her long eyebrows at me. “Well dearie of course they do! There’s no man, vampire or not that can rival with his looks!”She snorted and wagged a finger as I unintentionally moved my lips to form words that would contradict what she said. “Now you listen here, young miss, I’mma only goin along with this, ‘cause you and Haruka have seem to hit a rut. You be smart to ‘member the rules we set ‘afore you started these secret meetings. No-“I interrupted her as I had heard her say these things more than twice a minute when rare occasions when Haruka had business outside of our home arose. “No indecent actions, no running further than the coast, and under no circumstance, no matter what I must do, I must not weave an unbreakable bond with this man.”My words were but whisper at the end, as Van had already tied a thread around my finger. I sighed and lifted the cotton shirt over my head that she handed me. I gave her the same answer I always did, “I know… I know.” Fic 2: First Love: White WingsChapter 1-Kuran Ariya-The slight, pale, dark-haired girl stirred at the sound of her name. Her silvery gray eyes opened, and her eyes locked with Takuma’s.Her lips moved silently – Takuma? Then, she shuddered, and her eyes closed again. I could read her thoughts like they were my own. I’m dreaming again… This hallucination’s just too much… his scent fills this room… “Ariya!” Takuma cried, closing the short distance between them. He carefully held her close, and I could see the reason for his caution – she was so fragile like I could snap her with two fingers. I trembled with slight jealousy when he hugged her, then caught myself in time. What was I thinking?Takuma lifted her, and carried her past me to the door, but harsh, strong chains stopped him when he reached just a step outside the door. Memories flashed, and I remembered the hours I spent trying to break these chains. I lifted my slender wrists and remembered the pain of rubbing my wrists against the chains for so long…I looked at the younger girl in Takuma’s arms. Aido had iced the chains over and both Seiren and Kain had snapped them easily. I wished Aido had been around when I was caught…We descended the stairs, with me trailing behind. At the main door exiting the tower, I halted. They were all out, under the stars, but I stopped, watching them. Watching her.“Hime-chan,” my brother said to me.I turned to look at him.“Let’s go.”Everyone was now watching both Kaname and I – waiting for us to lead them away from this place.“No.”The word came out my mouth so fast that I wasn’t even aware that I said it until everyone stared at me with open amazement.“Nani?” Aido said in disbelief. He took a step towards me, but I raised my eyes and blood red met ice blue.“No,” I repeated. “We’re not going. You are.”Kaname’s hand closed over my shoulder, but with a blast of wind, I threw him back against Kain. He fell atop the younger, orange-haired vampire with an, ‘oof!’ All the other vampires stared at me in shock, unable to move. The other Ariya stirred, and I switched my gaze on her.I knew what I was supposed to do now. It was inevitable, and it wouldn’t be pretty, but seeing the people I loved most get hurt wasn’t exactly a party. They must leave before they realized that they were left with no one to experiment on. I turned, and started to ascend the stairs.“Ariya, come here now,” my brother snarled, stopping me. “This is an order!”I whirled around to face him. Our wills clashed, and I glared at them. Only Aido took a step back – the rest of them stared at me like I was crazy.Maybe I was.“Ariya-sama, please come with us,” Takuma told me. I turned to him, eyes soft and brimming with tears.I knew what I felt for him now.I loved him like I loved my brother, but he loved Yunoki Ariya, and my brother loved Kurosu Yuuki. No, she was Kuran Yuuki. His beguiling words of love for me were so I could be an ineffective balm for his hurt over his sister’s – his true sister’s – transformation.“Gomen, Takuma,” I told him, quietly, and held out one hand like I was going to reach for them. He held one hand out, towards me, and took a step forward.Wind blew forth, and slammed the titanium door shut. The sound vibrated eerily through the building, and as it faded, I heard their shouts of surprise and horror as I shut the door with a metal bar, and locked it. I heard Aido cursing as he tried to ice over the door, but it was obvious he failed, because suddenly the door turned cherry red, courtesy of Kain and faded.Something slammed against the door, and I heard Takuma yell, “Ariya! Wait!”My brother was snarling – I recognized the throaty sound – and he was hitting the door for all he was worth. “Ariya!”Aido was cursing again, probably because he said something he shouldn’t have and Kain stepped on his foot. My lips twitched at the irony: when I met them, he stepped on his foot, and now when I'm leaving them, Kain stepped on his foot again. No sound could be heard from Seiren. Why did I care so much?I turned around, and walked up the stairs, heading towards a door I clearly remember being taken to. As I ascended upwards, their shouting faded, although the banging vibrated through the building. I ignored it, and concentrated on walking into my worst nightmare. The door was already opened. I knew it. They had been following us.I stepped into the dim room. The silver-haired, gray-eyed man stared at me.“Kuran Ariya,” he pronounced my name with greedy reverence. “I’m glad to see you’re still alive and well. How heroic of you to save your friend and come here to confront me. And you left your brother as well! It’s so very interesting. Did you know I was quite sad when I found out that someone helped you escape? Project White Wings wasn’t accomplished… such a shame, I tell you. I never found out who set you free. But then, we found another girl, who, conveniently, will not remember anything of her past before this. And she also has your name… Very good! Now, I assume you came here to kill me for what I’ve done?” His voice was just on the brink of sarcasm, like he doubted my ability to kill.“Quite the contrary, actually. I came here with a deal in mind,” I said in a low voice. “Kazuki.”

Chapter Two: Closed SilverTakuma stroked the silky black hair of the girl he’d waited so long to see. Yunoki Ariya lay in his lap, her eyes closed and her breathing regular. Except for several winces and moans, she was calm. His warm green eyes never left her face.Everybody’s eyes were on her face, their breath held in, hoping that she’ll open her eyes suddenly, but she didn’t awaken.“Ariya,” Takuma whispered in her ear. She twitched, but still lay in unconsciousness.“What’s wrong with her?” Aido burst out. Kain poked him in the ribs, and he huffed. No one replied, although it was obvious Kaname knew the answer, but he was grieving, and everyone knew better than to distract him from his dark thoughts.Just as they turned into the wrought iron gates of Cross Academy, Ariya gave a moan, and her silver eyes fluttered open.“Ariya!” Takuma cried, but her eyes were glazed over, like she didn’t recognize him. Everyone half rose, even Kaname, and then remembered that they were in a car, and sat back down, watching the couple. Takuma bent over her. “Ariya, it’s Takuma. Do you remember me?” he asked. She shook her head slowly. “Ta… Takuma? You’re… here…?” Then, she seemed to remember something. Ariya shot up with surprising speed, her silvery gray eyes on Takuma’s face. “No, go! Quickly!” But even as she spoke, her hands formed manacles on his wrists, holding him there.“Ariya, you’re safe,” Takuma murmured to her, and kissed her forehead. “Don’t worry, we’re back at Cross Academy.”A blank look crossed her face. “Cross… Academy? Where’s that?”Everyone exchanged surprised looks. Takuma raised one eyebrow. “You’re at Cross Academy,” he said slowly. “Our school?”Her eyebrows knitted together. “School?” she repeated uncertainly.“Ariya-sama,” Aido started, but stopped when she switched her blank gaze on him.“Who’re you?” she asked bluntly.“It’s Aido,” Takuma reminded her. “You… hid his Pocky, remember?”“No.”Kaname raised his eyes to look into hers, and turned to Takuma. He said in a curiously blank voice, “She doesn’t remember anything, Ichijo. They’ve taken away her memories. She only remembers you.”---Kuran Ariya-“Here’s the deal,” I told Kazuki. “You can do whatever experiment you want on me – besides taking my blood for yourself, seeing as that’s illegal in our world – as long as you leave them alone. You don’t bother my friends or my brother, and I’ll be your lab rat. How’s that sound to you?”Kazuki’s smile grew. “Very good, my darling,” he murmured seductively, standing and striding smoothly over next to me. I shivered as he breathed on my ear. “I can’t wait to continue Project White Wings.”I shuddered when he ran his hand down my body, and jerked away.“That is sexual harassment,” I told him. “That’s not allowed either.”He chuckled. “Soon, you would be too weak to rebuke me. I very look forward to that.”“I’m not a damn prostitute,” I snapped. “I’m Kuran Ariya, the last Pureblood Princess. If you touch me that way, I won’t just blow your hand off, I’ll kick your brains out and watch them slide down that wall!” I pointed to the wall behind him, and he caught my wrists.“Don’t be so mean, love,” he coaxed me, his voice still seductive. His hands ran up my arm, and I glared at him. Slowly, as if he were oblivious to the fact that the room was beginning to get a little too windy, he pulled my body against his and kissed me, hard.I didn’t struggle, because I knew the consequences: he’ll give me a double dose of pain during the experiment. I wondered if Yunoki Ariya went through this. I didn’t get the time to ask. When the kiss finally ended, he took my hand, and led me out the door, up the never-ending staircase, to the dark chambers. There were two new additions to it since I last came up here with everyone else. A dim lamp, and a metal operation bed stood in the middle, stained with blood. Both mine, and
Yunoki Ariya’s.“Shall we?” Kazuki gestured towards the bed. I
knew the drill, and stripped myself to my underwear, then lay facedown on the metal bed. It was cold, as cold as I remembered.I shivered involuntarily as three male vampires in white suits came in, holding the hated tools. They gleamed sharply in the dim light.Kazuki waved the three men on, and they crowded around me. I shivered again as one of them jabbed a needle into me, taking my blood sample. Another one stroked my back gently. I remembered this guy. Why was he still around? I knew Kazuki disliked him for his preference to take orders from me than him, although I never did give him any.“Ohayo, Ariya-sama,” he said to me as he started to give me anesthetic so I wouldn’t feel the pain, but I heard a slap, and something cold touched my back, pricking my pale, smooth skin.I closed my eyes and let my body take me far away from the pain and confusion. As I drifted into oblivion, I dreamed of the man I'd loved for so long.Kuran Kaname.
Chapter Three: Whirlwind of Feelings-Yunoki Ariya-My eyes opened in a dark place. I could sense vampires all around me. I found his presence, right next to me, and I saw his bright green eyes. They were shimmering with sadness... why was he sad? I was here with him. I would always be here with him from now on.I sat up, and the blanket covering me fell from my shoulders.“Ariya, you should sleep.”His quiet voice was loud in the empty room, and his gentle hands tried to push me back down, but I managed to resist and instead hugged him tightly close to me. The wounds on my back stretched with my body, and I hissed in pain.“What’s wrong?” Takuma asked me – no, he demanded.I ignored him, and twisted around carefully to feel for the two strange I knew I had on my back. They were hot to touch, and had grown into an oval stretching vertically down my torso. His cool, gentle hands took mine, and he stroked my disfigured back. “Oh,” he whispered softly, and ran a hand over my spine. I shivered.“What are these?” he asked as his fingers found the source of the disfiguration.“I don’t know,” I answered honestly, and hissed when he ran a hand over an open wound.“Gomen,” he murmured, and took my hand. “We need to see Kaname about this. He’s grieving, but he’ll know what’s wrong.” He led me into the hallway.“Who’s Kaname?”He shot me a look of surprise, and I scowled. I couldn’t remember anything but him! Everything about him fills my mind, down to his tantalising scent.“Kuran Kaname,” he answered. “The Pureblood Prince.”I nodded like I knew what that was.Takuma stopped in front of a double wooden door, and he rapped it neatly. “Kaname? We need to see you about something. There’s something wrong with Ariya.”There was a long pause before I heard a muffled grunt.Takuma opened the door and led us in.I was suddenly well aware of my short, almost revealing nightgown (although I had a jacket around me) as I stared at Kaname. The strikingly handsome vampire gazed at me with sorrow-filled eyes, and beckoned me closer.“What is wrong?”His voice was gentle and refined, much like one who has been brought up as a so-called ‘Prince’. I stared at him, and turned around, taking off the jacket. Takuma explained in short, clipped sentences as Kaname ran a hand over my back. I could feel his surprise as he found the bumps.“Do you know what those are?” Takuma asked.Kaname hesitated, and sat up. I turned my head around and saw him whispering into Takuma’s ear. I frowned, and he gave me a small smile before continuing to speak with him. Takuma’s eyes widened at his words, whatever they were, and he stepped back.“No, she can’t be...”“I can’t be what?” I asked. Takuma shook his head, and started to pace.“Ariya-san, please return to your room and rest,” Kaname spoke to me. “Seiren will keep you company.” A short vampire girl with lavender hair came out of the darkness, and bowed to me and Kaname before taking my hand and returning to the room with me.“What’re they talking about?” I demanded. Anger made my vision flash red, and suddenly, I realized how very thirsty I was. I gasped when my throat burned.Seiren took in my look, and bowed before me. I saw her deft hands brushing back her hair and revealing her very exposed neck to me. I shivered, and stepped forward, my vision tainted with red.“Are you afraid?”“I’m not afraid that I wouldn’t know how to do it. I’m afraid that… I won’t stop when I start. That I’ll kill you. I won’t be able to live with that, Takuma. I’ll just die if anything happens to you. Don’t make me do this. I really, really, can’t!”I stopped suddenly, and shuddered as the memory swam in front of my eyes, using my hands to cover them.“Ariya-sama!”Seiren’s suddenly loud, concerned voice cut through the memory. A crash rang out, and I looked up in time to see a girl with long bronze-ish hair and two boys, one of whom was ‘Aido’, and another with reddish-blond hair burst into my room. “Ariya-sama!” Aido panted, looking around for the danger.“Gomen,” I answered, and sat down on the bed. “Gomen,” I repeated quietly, and passed a hand over my brow. The memory was gone now, and I had a feeling that it happened not long before... the nightmare.“What happened?” the boy with reddish-blond hair demanded.“Kain,” the girl cautioned.“Ruka, she’s a Pureblood, and we take care of Purebloods,” Kain replied the girl, and turned to me. “What happened?” he repeated.I shook my head. “I just remembered something that happened before... this. That’s all. Gomen for taking your time.”They frowned at each other but said nothing as they dispersed. I was sure that they thought I hadn’t seen them, but I had.Takuma came half an hour later – by then, Seiren had given me a glass of what they called ‘blood tablets’, something I’d gladly drink now, starved and bloodless as I was, but I would reject later. I would have to complain to their Pureblood Prince, because the food here was horrible and inadequate to me.I sipped the pale red drink as he entered, looking weary and a little afraid. Afraid of what?I asked him that, although I felt a little worried about his answer. Thank goodness he didn’t reply, but that also worried me further. In a moment of complete stupidity, I asked him, “Am I going to die?”He gazed at me with surprise. “What makes you think that, hime? Of course you’re not.”I smiled, relieved and glad to hear that. I chose not to answer his question, because I knew his reaction to it. Instead, I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him close to me. He chuckled, and hugged me back. After a while of silence, he finally asked the dreaded question: “Could you tell me what happened?”I bit my lip.“Please, Ariya.”I hesitated before telling him about the blood, and the pain. It was all I could remember, I said, because I was always kept half conscious, whether they wanted me to feel the pain or it was just to keep me from falling into a deep sleep from which they couldn’t wake me up I didn’t know. His face tightened at those words, and I felt that he wasn’t listening anymore. I stopped speaking, and watched him as he looked out the window restlessly.“Continue.”So I spoke of the lonely days, and the times when someone came in to feed me. He told me to describe the man, but I couldn’t remember much but for his obvious respect towards me, and his kind gray eyes, which always reminded me of him: Takuma. And then I recalled the voices speaking to me, but I wasn’t sure if they were real or just me going mad, and then I started to hallucinate. When I saw him for the first time, I recalled quite vividly screaming at him, telling him to go away. I had been punished for that, and after that I knew it was just a vision. I began to look forward to them, because it was the only way I could see him...He sucked in a breath when I told him about the operation room, the tools, the whole place smelling like blood. My blood, and the girl who was with them when they came to rescue me. The one who looked like Kaname. I recognized her scent when she came in.He looked thoughtful, and continued to stare out the window.“What’s wrong?” I asked again. He turned to look at me, eyes strangely blank as if he were banishing some emotion. I wondered if it was pain for my pain, but I thought I could be wrong.“Nothing.”That single word maddened me, and I was about to reply when something – or someone – screamed in my head, ringing eerily, like how I did when I first came round and felt the pain. It was as if I were there again, as if Takuma’s hands were the knives and they were cutting deep into my back, tearing through flesh, through muscle, and burying whatever they buried deep inside my body. I arched my back and screamed with that person as I felt the pain – her pain, my pain, I didn’t know. I could see the place, the room, the dark, dark room... and the voices! They were there again... pushing me, telling me that I had to live... to suffer to be who I am...“Kazuki-sama, no!”A male voice, kind... it was the vampire with gray eyes! How he had encouraged me to escape... but I didn’t... and it was too late.A maniacal laugh.“Step aside, foolish boy. I didn’t hire you to protect Ariya-hime here. I hired you to do a job... so do it!” A calloused hand shoved the gray-eyed vampire away, and landed on a sharp piece of glass... it sparkled even in the darkness... the broken glass from heaven, in his hands! He dared to take it...“Kazuki-sama, please, no...”The vampire had a hand on Kazuki’s hand...“Ryuu-san...”The weak voice came from the table, the bloody table. Flashes told me that it was her, the girl who came with them to save me. Pity and gratitude came from me – she took my place for me...“Leave him, Kazuki. I’m already here, what more do you want?”Her voice held power, much like the Pureblood Prince. Maybe she’s the Pureblood Princess... why would she desert her brother for me? Unless she thought there was no hope...“Ariya-sama...”“Let him do it, Ryuu.” A weak hand came up and fluttered over his hand. He let go of the other man’s hand. She gave a sigh, and lay her head back down on the table. “Do it now. Make it fast.”There was another chuckle, one of triumph, and the glass flashed.Blood spilled in my head, and into the darkness.

Chapter Four: It’s Not Over One month later...I was flying.Beautiful white bird wings carried me across the plain, through time and into eternity. Everything... was so clear, so beautiful, but I enjoyed none of it. My eyes searched in vain for someone... someone I didn’t remember. Who was that person?--It was that dream again.I stared up at the ceiling, feeling helpless, hopeless. Kuran Ariya... She had forgotten everything, just like I had forgotten everyone who mattered to me.I was back at Cross Academy after the short break. Takuma had been held back by Otou-san to do some sort of errand... and he was coming back either today or tomorrow. But he had said that many times now, so I learned not to get my hopes up. He had assured me over the phone that I didn’t have to visit him because he’d be too busy.Had he found someone else? Someone who met his... needs because I couldn’t?I ran a hand through my dark hair and sighed. I wasn’t allowed to think that. If I did... it was as though it made everything come true.“Ri-ri-chan!” I heard Hanabusa sing from the corridor entrance. “We’re gonna go now!”“Coming, Hana!” I called back, using the nickname that ruffled his feathers. Well, it was his fault for calling me Ri-ri!As expected, he stuck his scowling face around my ajar door. “I told you not to call me that! It’s a girl’s name,” he whined.“You’ve got something against girls?”“Only when I’m one.”I laughed, and got up, straightening my skirt and jacket. I saw Hanabusa eye my legs appreciatively, and raised a warning finger. “What do you think Takuma will do to you if he saw you doing that?” I teased.“It’ll be worth it,” I heard him mumble as he retracted his head from the door. I followed him out, and saw Seiren waiting for me with Ruka as well. “Hi!” I chirped, and received strange looks. I shrugged.“Takuma’s coming back today, isn’t he?” another voice said from behind me. I whirled around.“Hai, Kaname-sama.” At least, I hoped so.The brooding Pureblood smiled at me, and said, for the millionth time, “You don’t need to address me as thus, Ariya. We are of the same status.”“But...”He chuckled, and ruffled my hair as he walked past. I glared at him, much to the amusement of my friends.“Hanabusa...”“Hai, Akatsuki?”“Takuma’s probably coming back today.”“So?”“Ariya’ll have to tell him everything.”“So?”“He’ll kill you if she tells him about what you’re doing right now.”I turned to see Hanabusa quickly averting his gaze and flushing bright red. “Her legs are addictive!” he complained. “Not that the rest of you isn’t,” he added quickly, noticing me watching him, the turned so red I wouldn’t be surprised if steam came out his ears. “Damn!” he wailed.Everyone else laughed, and we moved away, heading for another day of classes.I gazed out the window, hoping for a hint that he was coming back any time soon. But once again, there were none.--I wandered aimlessly through the building, fighting back the fear that Takuma was hurt, the despair that he will never return to us... to me.Even just thinking that made me wonder what the world will be like without him... and made me feel the terror at facing the unknown without him by my side.Did he even want me? Or did he only ‘love’ me because he didn’t want to hurt me? Would I always be the little girl he had known? Once I’d been sure, but now I don’t even know which it was.I entered the stairway leading to the rooftop. Two long strides forward, and I paused as the door shut behind me, the sound echoing through the whole space. I let the echoes die down before moving upwards, slowly and steadily, my eyes always downcast. My footsteps made the sounds now, the sound of bare flesh against hollow concrete ringing in my ears.So long since I saw him last. So long, too long.My hand automatically reached for the handle at the top, and I inched the door open.Voices flooded the place. I scented the people already at the roof.Kaname.Seiren.Shiki... There was something wrong with his scent. Maybe he changed his soap.And...Takuma.My heart leaped, and I was about to dash through the door when I heard Kaname say, “I’m surprised to see you here with my dear Uncle, Ichijo. Why haven’t you gone to see Ariya yet? She’s been waiting for you.”“She can wait,” Takuma responded. His voice was nervous... like he was trying to hide something. My hand tightened on the doorknob.“That pup is still alive?” I heard Shiki laugh. My insides froze. That voice...“I don’t believe it,” he continued. “I’d have thought that someone would’ve taken the power from her... Well, I had been hoping Ichio would... or Takuma.” I heard Takuma murmur something, and ‘Shiki’ laughed again.“Of course you couldn’t. But I hoped nevertheless. Never mind, now that I’m back...”“You will not touch her,” I heard Kaname say clearly.“And why not, nephew?”“I won’t allow it.”‘Shiki’ laughed softly. “It’s no longer what you allow, nephew. I am the King now, not you.” There was a pause, and I wondered what was happening. Then, Shiki said, “I’m honestly relieved that Shizuka, my fiancée, has vanished. I had the feeling that I’d have to wait all eternity before she’d become as docile as this kid’s mother.”Another pause.“Thank goodness,” Kaname said finally, “I’m truly relieved, Uncle, that you haven’t changed one bit. You’re still the kind of person I wouldn’t hesitate to kill.”The floor rumbled beneath me, and I gasped, throwing the door open and running into the scene in case they needed help.“Kaname!”Takuma’s shout brought me up short. I noticed Shiki sniff the air and glance towards me. He seemed undisturbed by the giant stone monster and the blond boy who’d just rushed in to save him.I shivered. His eyes...“I’m sorry,” Takuma continued, “But please don’t hurt Shiki! I won’t allow him to be sacrificed further in this war between the two of you!”Kaname tilted his head sideways. “I guess,” he said softly, “That would place you in good standing as a member of a pro-council family.”“You’re welcome to think of it that way...” Takuma started.Shiki put out a hand and touched Takuma. “Don’t worry, Kaname didn’t strike out in earnest because it’s meaningless to destroy this borrowed body.”Takuma lowered his eyes. He had yet to notice me.“I don’t believe it,” he murmured quietly. “Kaname’s...”“It doesn’t matter either way. As long as I get what I need to complete my resurrection.” Shiki turned to Kaname, and a smile curved the model’s lips. “Has that child... woken from her slumber yet? When the blissful dream turns into a nightmare, it’ll rip her to shreds from within with vicious fangs if you don’t do anything about it.”Kaname raised his eyes and met mine for a second before turning to Shiki.“Rido... Do you think I’d let a foul creature like you lay a single finger on her?”And the Prince disappeared.Rido.Kuran Rido. He’s the one. He’s the one who caught me and sent me here. He’s the one who freed me from the suffering. He’s the one who I have to kill.My lips moved soundlessly. “Taku...ma...”Takuma whirled around and saw me.“Ariya!”He jogged over and enveloped me in a hug. His heady scent overwhelmed me, and I broke down in his arms. “Takuma...”His arms tightened around me. “You shouldn’t be here,” he whispered, and let me go, backing away. Back to Rido.Rido smiled.“It’s too late, Takuma. Take her along.”Takuma looked helplessly at me, not moving. “Go,” he mouthed.“Takuma,” the other vampire said in a light, playful voice, but his eyes burned angrily. “Unless you’d rather do it than I?”Reluctantly, Takuma stepped closer to me. I was unable to move as he drew me closer in a hug. I felt his hot breath on my neck, and knew immediately what he was about to do. “I’m sorry,” he whispered, and sharp pain ran through my body as he sank his fangs into my flesh.--Red... snow... A hand reached out as if to catch the bloody snow, then withdrew. Tears filled my vision. Then I heard his voice. Kaname.“The world has been stained red... it will never be the same again.”Then another voice, seemingly issued from my own mouth. “I... only tried to remember.” The voice broke at the end. It wasn’t mine. It was Yuuki’s.“Yuuki... enough of that now,” Kaname said gently. Out of its own accord, my head turned to look at him. “Try to wake up... before you shatter into pieces.”Sorrow crashed over me as I looked into his suffering eyes. He exposed my neck and I closed my eyes. There was no pain this time.---No POV-Her limp body fell from his arms, and Takuma backed away, horrified at what he’d done.“Ari...”“Good boy, Takuma. Now... let’s get moving,” Shiki told him.Her pale face was emotionless.A tear slipped down his cheek.Ari...“Takuma,” Shiki said sharply. He was waiting by the doorway. As if everything was a dream, Takuma made his way slowly after the boy who had once been his friend, but now harboured the vampire of everyone’s nightmare. When they were gone, an angel lighted down onto the roof, landing exactly next to the unmoving body of Yunoki Ariya.Kuran Ariya folded her wings and knelt next to the girl who was her daughter and sister. It’s not over yet.

Chapter Five: Walking in the Shadows -Kuran Ariya-In that moment, the scent of blood filled the air.My head shot up, and I sniffed warily. The smell... it was familiar... like...Yuuki.The Guardian’s face flashed in my mind, and I frowned slightly. My brother loved her, that’s for sure... but to change her as well? Surely that was going over the law he set for himself? Then, I scented someone else’s blood.Kaname.He... what was he doing?I cast Yunoki-chan another glance before spreading my wings and lofting into the air. I was used to seeing everything from a bird’s eye view now, and my eyesight was sharper than before. I saw them immediately...They were kissing. It was as if someone shot me with a gun. I stumbled in mid-air, and plummeted a few feet before I got my wings back under control. My heart thundered in my chest as I watched her eyes open and widen with shock as she realized who was kissing her...I wrenched my gaze away, and sniffed again, another scent arising from the ground.Rido.Or rather, Rido in Shiki’s body.I could sense him...I snarled softly, glad to feel the same thirst to kill all vampires had. As long as I wasn’t completely changed, I suppose my transformation wouldn’t half as bad.I was about to land when I saw Rima jump from the tree. I hesitated, wondering if I should go down and help before someone got hurt... but then she lit up her hands and I saw the lightning crackling...She would be fine. I had to accept that.I hoped he wouldn’t kill her.My eyes caught sight of the blond boy on the ground.Takuma.He glanced up, and I hoped that all I seemed to be to him was a bird. I hoped I was high in the sky enough...I must’ve been, because he lowered his eyes and watched Rima flip backwards to avoid another blow from ‘Shiki’. She was clutching her side...You owe me, Kuran Ariya. The voice, his voice reverberated through my head, and I gasped, falling once again as his presence crept through my whole body and stilled my wings. An invisible force dragged me down, and I twisted in the air, trying to put some of my willpower into my wings and break my fall. You owe me for the life I returned to you... now show me that I am your master. Prove it to me. Kill Rima. Do it now.At the last moment, he made them flare up, and I landed gently on the ground, my wings returning to their hiding places. I knew that only the two rips in my shirt showed everyone that something once had been there.“Shi...ki... Idiot.”I heard her words clearly, and tried to make my body lie still. Takuma was staring at me, his green eyes wide...“How could you just let someone else control you like that?” Rima screamed at him. “You should have more self-respect!!”Do it now, Ariya. No, I told myself. No... stay... stay down... stay down...The force slackened, and doubled.“Ariya...”Takuma let Rima go and knelt next to me. Shudders ran through my body, and I knew that I couldn’t fight it any longer.Darkness consumed me as Rido took over my body.---No POV-Wake up.The voice was strange, echoing like it came from far away. The dark-haired girl stirred feebly, but didn’t move. The warm light surrounding her was too peaceful, too addictive. She liked it and didn’t want to leave it. But the voice was insisting, annoying. It called her again, one more time. Wake up, Yunoki-chan.Why? I’m comfortable here, she complained, squeezing her eyes shut.Everyone’s in danger. Wake up!Her gray eyes flew open and she saw Seiren shaking her. “Ariya-sama, Ariya-sama!” Seiren was saying.“Is she awake?”Ruka.“Yes, finally,” Seiren muttered, and stood. She held a hand out to the younger vampire and tugged her to her feet. “Ariya-sama, we must go.”“Where?” she said weakly, standing up, using Seiren’s hand as a rail. She dusted herself off and shook her head when blood rushed to her head.“To Kuran-sama.”--Some time later...-Kuran Ariya-Waking up, I remembered nothing that had happened... but I was in a bed opposite Shiki’s. I stared at him...And the smell...The smell of blood was in the air.I shuddered, and sat up, glancing involuntarily at Shiki again. He was still asleep.“What a coincidence. We awaken at the same time...”My head snapped to the source of that voice. He sat up from the coffin and gave me a mocking smile...“Long time no see... Ariya.”I hissed as memories thundered through my brain.“I suppose you remember what happened to you?”I swallowed. “You set me free,” I said hoarsely“That’s right, my dear.” Rido smiled at me.“But I’ve become what I was sent to be already.”“Oh really? That’s an interesting surprise. How do you feel?”I glared at him, not wanting to answer. The truth be told, I felt wonderful, free and happy. But I couldn’t tell him that...He laughed.“Don’t worry about not telling me. I’ll find out soon enough.”What did he mean?He chuckled, and stood. “Come, my dear. Let’s go for a little walk, shall we?”---Yunoki Ariya-Where is he?Having broken away from my companions, I was now searching for him, for Takuma. I wanted to know why... to know if he was still alive. I couldn’t sense him anywhere...Kaname appeared from the darkness.“Kaname-sama!” I rushed over to him, panting and trying not to cry now.He caught me in a one-armed hug with some surprise. “What’s wrong?”“Takuma...”“He’s with his grandfather.”My breath caught.“He’s...”“Very much alive,” Kaname finished for me, and smiled. “Don’t worry, he’s perfectly capable of taking care of himself.”“I have to get to him,” I blurted out, disturbed by his strange aura and his distracting tranquillity. “Please... I have to go to him.”Kaname’s eyes darkened, and he shook his head. “You’re much needed here.”“I...”Kaname raised one eyebrow. “You’re still going to him even though I told you not to, aren’t you?”I nodded weakly, not wondering how he knew me so well. It wasn’t the time for it. Kaname sighed. “Go on then.” He stepped aside, not smiling. His face was solemn as it usually was... and the peaceful air he had had dissolved, replaced with one full of worry. Then I realized. He was worried for me.“Kaname... Gomennasai,” I whispered, and dashed away, into the darkness.
